St Mary's Paper will Shut Down Paper machine

St. Marys Paper will close PM 5 at its Sault Ste Marie, Ontario mill. The machine has a capacity to produce 130,000MTA of SC-A paper. The mill’s other machines, PM3 and PM4, have been closed since December.

I understand that the pricing for super calendar paper is increasing on April 1. Even with this increase, could not this mill keep the machine going? I would think the super calendar market would be doing well. I was reading in a past Coy Paper news release that publishers were reducing quality in an effort to save money. I assumed this meant more economical papers such as this one would grow in popularity. Any one have anything to say on this?

I thought the SuperCalender market was strong. Was this machine just so inefficient ?
