Domtar Closes a Paper Mill

Domtar just announced it will permanently close its coated groundwood publication paper mill in Columbus, Mississippi. The Domtar coated groundwood paper mill has an annual production capacity of 238,000 tons of coated groundwood and 70,000 metric tons of thermo-mechanical pulp.

Just reading your earlier Blog, news release, and I understand Domtar sold the grade line to NewPage. Does NewPage have an interest in acquiring this plant? Are they able to replicate the specs on NewPage current equipment?

This is really not that old a mill in paper mill age, is it? I do enjoy reading your releases - keep it up!
