R.H. Donnelley is Now Dex One

R.H. Donnelley changed their name to Dex One and also announced it will emerge from Chapter 11. The 124-year-old local business directory publisher and marketing company also provides business search engines and pay-per-click networks. The new name will tie into their search website dexknows.com. The company is attempting to rebrand itself as a search engine company.

Just wanted to correct a few errors in Mr. Vallely’s post.

- Dex One is not trying to rebrand ourselves as a search engine company – that’s far too limiting for what we offer. In fact, we provide a broad range of products and services that help local businesses get found and selected by active shoppers. Our products include print Yellow Pages directories, voice-based search platforms, online and mobile search solutions, and search engine marketing services (including one of the largest pay-per-click ad networks in the U.S.); our services include business and market analysis, message and image creation, target market identification, ad and digital profile creation, keyword and search engine optimization strategies and programs, and tracking and reporting.

- The name Dex One not only calls to mind DexKnows.com, but all of our Dex-branded products, including the Dex Yellow Pages, DexPages and 1-800-Call-Dex. It also reflects the fact that we are a one-stop resource for the business owner who wants their business to be found anywhere, regardless of where consumers are searching.

- Finally, we did not announce that we will be emerging from Chapter 11; rather, we emerged on January 29th, and then re-launched February 1st as Dex One Corporation.

Thanks,

Sounds Like a search engine model to me. Glad to see a publisher is looking outside the box. The yellow pages and published reference material is yesterday's platform. Today, 'the world' researches via the internet.
